Bad Customer Service!
Wow, this place is anything but tip top... More like Flip Flop! The menu is on this dimly lit sign above the deli area and you are hurting your neck trying to read everything. You order at the register and pick up your food.
Good: 1) Yes the prices are great, for this much meat, you can't beat it. 2) Good portion size 3) Mashed potatoes. Brown gravy helps! 4) The wait staff. You can tell the woman that buses your table after you're done works hard. I hope they're paying her well. Bad: 1) Service! The woman over the counter gave my group and I the worse welcome you have ever seen. "UHHH MOVE INTO A SINGLE LINE!" In the most abrupt voice. My friend and I were turned off by her attitude being as that we were waiting in line to order. It was like she was PMSing! 2) Salads here are pre-made... limited choices in dressing (no Caesar) 3) Prime rib was dry and chewy 4) Gives you this big honkin broccoli instead of cutting it into more decent sized pieces. Remember that your customers is what makes your business successful and having an attitude doesn't help bring them back. I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon.

horrible nightclub
My review is for the nightclub.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no... I got here around 10:30 for a friend's bday, which I guess is considered early for this place. Downtown usually has more of a crowd by 10:30. Anyways, the good thing, the DJ took requests. The bad, although he was playing mainstream songs, he had a very very hard time trying to transitioning or mixing songs together. The beats appeared to be way off and didn't have a genuine feel to it. The place was essentially dead. I found that this place got easily hot which is surprising because its such a high ceiling. Also there is a $20 drink minimum if you use your credit card. So make sure you bring cash. A lot of you may be wondering about the clientele... to put it in the most nicest way possible: its a mixture of military guys and people who appear to have been rejected by downtown. This was my first and last time I'll ever come here. Oh a couple of key notes: *no drinks on the dance floor; *if you're from the North County, you'll probably bump into people you know; *a lot of the music was 90s hip hop [not in a good way]. But try it out for yourself, perhaps you may find it more enjoyable than I.

ruby burger all the way
i used to work at the carlsbad outlets when i was in college and had to find food in a food limited area. its a diner style but the staff is friendly and efficient. for all you oc-ers, its a lot like johnny rockets.
i wouldn't say come here often but once in awhile, its nice to eat here. i like their skinny fries. its yumalicious. did i just seriously just use that word?! wow. watchin too much 30 minute meals episodes. the calm chowder is good but a bit on the runny side. however, i like their burgers and sandwiches. Come during their anniversary and they have a ruby burger at their anniversary price. you really can't go wrong here.

Great view, good food, potentially a long wait
I came here the other weekend and had an amazing breakfast/brunch. They've got a great old house as their restaurant which has a picturesque view of La Jolla Cove. The whole setup reminds me of new england. I would imagine the sunsets are out of control here. The food was very good, they've got a number of cool signature dishes. Our waiter was attentive and helpful, although they were busy, he wasn't overly pushy. I would love to come here again but I hear it gets very busy and the wait is often over an hour long. Although I think they take reservations...

Average doughnuts
Its okay... i had the doughnut holes, which weren't out of this world. I think parts of the holes were missing some glaze. Good thing I shared some with a friend. It was slightly busy when we came here. It was during the Carlsbad Fair so I don't know what this place is like on a regular basis.
I'm sure my friend will drag me over there again if we're ever in the area. I appreciate leaving the building this place and not smelling like oil. The service was excellent considering the lines outside the door. (Again, during the big Carlsbad Fair). Didn't seem like much area to sit down if you wanted to. Just a tiny little counter next to the doughnut case. But I would recommend this place...

Food isn't so great
I'm not a beer person so its hard for me to judge the taste of their beer so my review is solely on the food.
I've been here many times. I try to avoid this place as much as I can as I don't enjoy the food at all. I've always been let down with the quality of the food or even the taste of food. I came here once and just ordered a mixed green salad cuz I couldn't find anything that I would've been even remotely interested in eating. Guess what? They messed up the salad. Wrong dressing and the chicken overcook. My only salvation was the service. They were nice about it and friendly as much as they could be. Another event was with a friend on the patio, the fries were bland and bit on the undercooked side as they came off a bit starchy. The location of the food was a bit odd given the large amount of space that they could've utilized near the back end of the patio. It was all around awkward. Good thing I had a couple of drinks and bugging Maria to pass the time. Overall, the menu could be improved upon. But if you enjoy the beer, come!

the tacos are great here!
WOW, the tacos here are phenomenal! I happened to notice the adobada spit on the street as a friend and I were grabbing donuts from the shop in the same lot. The tacos are a dollar and I couldn't resist wanting to try it.
The people are nice and there was an oiliness about the tortillas that reminded me of the superb taco stands in Rosarito. I had the adobada plain. I loved it! The slices weren't end pieces or pieces that were sitting out for awhile so it really hit the spot. It had just the right amount of fatiness to meat ratio. Simply great. Once we had one, my friend and I had to get 4 more even though we were full! The only reason why I deducted a star was because when we went in for seconds... the cabeza/mystery meat (which we didn't eat) looked on the gelatinous side. Aside from that hiccup, there was tons of meat packed on the taco. I'm sure anyone would thoroughly enjoy the tacos from here.
